Stop 4: Los Angeles
adidas terrace tour
El Mercadito Marketplace
The fourth stop of the adidas Fútbol Society tour transformed a space in Echo Park into "El Mercadito," a vibrant marketplace inspired by the bustling mercados of LA and Mexico. Taking place from June 27-30, the activation celebrated Copa América and Mexico’s National Team (FMF) through bold visuals, immersive storytelling, and interactive experiences. Overflowing with over 20,000 props, the space was alive with colorful papel picado, traditional fruit stands, jerseys wrapped like fresh market goods, and marigold garlands, bringing fútbol culture to life in a way that felt deeply rooted in the city’s Latinx heritage.
Guests received custom Lotería cards, unlocking access to the Bueno fridge stocked with Jarritos, an ice cream cart, a fresh-cut fruit stand, and more. Interactive stations invited attendees to experience hair braiding, manicures, and a selfie booth, while a massive LED screen and outdoor stage with mariachi bands set the scene for two high-energy Copa América watch parties. The event also highlighted the legacy of the F50 cleat, featured athlete interviews, and hosted live music performances, creating a dynamic fusion of sport, culture, and community in the heart of Los Angeles.
